How we write our articles

Each article here begins with current clinical guidance, mostly from the Menopause Society and national medical bodies, plus peer-reviewed research. We set out what the evidence shows, where it is uncertain and what that means for choices you are likely to face, such as picking between a patch and a pill or deciding when to start treatment.

The blog works alongside the rest of the site. If you are after a particular symptom, start with our menopause symptom guides. To learn about individual therapies, see the menopause HRT guide and rankings, and to weigh providers up side by side, use our comparison tool. Our editorial policy sets out how we handle sources, corrections and affiliate relationships.

These articles are for information and do not replace medical advice. If something you read here raises a question about your own health, take it to a licensed clinician.
